Santiago International Airport is located approximately 20 kilometres West of the city.
We recommend that you take an official taxi from the airport to your hotel. The names of the official taxi companies are Taxi Oficial, Taxi Vip and Radio Movil Tur Bus.
The official taxi booths are located inside the main terminal when you exit customs. The cost will depend on your final destination. Prices range from approximately CLP 14000 (Airport to Providencia) to CLP 17000 (Airport to Universidad Catolica San Joaquin Campus). It is not common to tip the driver.
Using an offical taxi is the safest way to way to travel from the airport to your hotel. However, If you prefer a more economical form of transport you have 2 options:
1. The Airport Transfer Service
These are minibuses that offer a shared taxi service. They drive you from the airport and drop you off at your hotel.This should be arranged within the airport. Two companies offer this service: Transvip and Turbus.
Approximate cost: CLP 5000 (depending on where your hotel is).
2. By Bus
These are shuttle buses that go from the airport to the city. Two companies offer this service: Turbus and Centropuerto. You can catch these buses immediately upon exiting the main airport terminal. During the day they run frequently. You pay the driver directly. Once you arrive in Santiago, you can get off the bus at a subway (Metro) station and take the subway to your final destination.

Weekdays from 05:30 till 22:30, weekends and Bank Holidays from 05.30 until 22.00.
Prices: CLP 1700 (CLP stands for ;Chilean Peso $;) for a one way ticket, and CLP 2900 for a return ticket.
